Product description of Toba Eye Drops 0.3%

Toba Eye Drops 0.3% is an exceptional remedy that is used in the treatment of eye infections caused by bacteria. It inhibits the bacterial growth in the eye, but not effective in the management infections, which are not caused by bacteria. Toba eye drop encloses an important medicine known as generic Tobramycin.

Mechanism of action of Toba Eye Drops 0.3%

Toba eye drop shows its therapeutic effect due to its generic drug called Tobramycin belongs to a class of medicine known as Aminoglycosides antibiotics. It binds to the on the bacterial 30S ribosome and prevents the formation of the 70S complex. Hence, it inhibits the bacterial protein synthesis that leads to alter the cell membrane permeability, progressive disruption of the cell envelope, and eventual cell death.

How can Toba Eye Drops 0.3% be used?

First, wash your hands before using Toba eye drops.  Tilt your head back and pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch with the help of your index finger. Instill one or two drops of Toba eye drops into the affected eyes, three to four times' day. Close your eyes for two minutes and do not blink your eyes. Keep on using this eye drop for the full time prescribed, even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Wait for 5 to 10 minutes after using this eye drop, if you want to use any other eye drops.

Under what medical conditions the use of Toba Eye Drop 0.3% is contraindicated

If you have allergic reactions with Toba eye dropa or other ingredients of Toba eye drops, then do not use this eye drop.

What are the undesired effects of Toba Eye Drops 0.3%?

An individual may face some undesired effects while using Toba eye drops such as burning or stinging sensation in the eyes, teary eyes, eye redness, eye discomfort, and eyelid itching or swelling.

What are the possible drug interactions of Toba Eye Drops 0.3%?

Cyclosporine, Fludarabine, Furosemide, Methoxyflurane, Indomethacin, Streptozocin, Polymyxin B, or Vancomycin Injection enhances the risk of Toba eye drops side effects. Ceftazidime and Pancuronium should not be used together with Toba eye drops because Toba eye drops may increase their side effects.

How to store Toba Eye Drops 0.3%?

Toba eye drops should be kept at normal room temperature. Do not place this medicine in direct sunlight, warm and humid place.

What are the precautions to be taken while using Toba Eye Drops 0.3%?

  • Toba eye drop may blur your vision, so do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe task after using this eye drop.
  • Toba eye drop should not be used in children younger than 2 months old, as safety and effectiveness in these children have not been established.
  • Breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women should communicate their doctor before using this eye drop.
  • Always remove your contact lenses before using this eye drop.
  • Do not try to touch the tip of the container with naked hands to avoid contamination.
